The Magic of a Polish Christmas

Dedicated to a Polish celebration of the "Birth of Jesus" from the past, the present, and above all, the future.

Midnight Mass, the decorations, the ringing bells, the church filled to capacity, the manger scene, and finally, the glorious sounds of the majestic organ accompanying the choir to begin the celebration of Christmas by singing the beautiful Polish Kolendy.  This was the magic of Christmas as it announcd the birth of Jesus at Saint Slanislaus church, This was Christmas as we remember, and hopefully, it is Christmas as you will remember.

We hope that these magical memories of the Kolendy will instill in all the desire to preserve the Polish traditions of Midnight Mass and family celebrations bonded together with our religious heritage.  It is our prayer that these traditions will be passed on to our children, grandchildren and friends in the new millennium.

Polish/American Hymns of Thanksgiving and Praise.

The music performed on this recording was performed as a "Great Mass of Jubilee" in honor of the visit of Archbishop Joseph M. Zycinski of Lublin, Poland on April 25, 1999 by the Choir of St. Stanislaus Church in Erie, Pennsylvania.   They are to be commended for their dedication and hard work in providing a musical program that was most exemplary and in the tradition of St. Stanislaus Church.
