| Zidane Tribal Zidane is the main character of FF IX. He uses daggers and butterfly swords (twin bladed.) He is in a band of thieves but then quits later on. Being that he is a thief he has the wonderful ability to steal items. |
Garnet Til Alexandros (Dagger) Garnet is a summoner who used to live in Mandain Sari until Queen Brahn adopted her. She uses magic rods and has the ability to summon creatures. One of her better summons, Odin, sometimes can instantly cause death. |
| Vivi Ornitier Vivi is a young black mage. His black magic is extremely useful during battle. He has the ability to drain enemies and cast Blizaga etc... He uses staffs to learn these different types of magic. |
Adelbert Steiner Steiner is the leader of the Knights of Pluto for the Alexandrian army. His job is to protect Princess Garnet. When he meets Zidane he immediately dislikes him and the entire band of thieves he is with. He uses swords which can be very effective in battle. His shock ability is one of the best in the game. |
| Freya Crescent Freya is a protector of Burmeica. Zidane found her in a restaurant in Lindblum. She also participates in the festival of the hunt. Freya uses spears. When she uses her jump attack she becomes unattackable for a bit of time. Then she lands, spear down, on her enemy causing massive damage. |
Quina Quen Quina is a....well he/she is a member of the Q tribe. He/she looks really funny. And what's even more hilarious is that he/she attacks using forks. He/She can eat her enemies when they are at low health letting him/her to gain new useful abilities. |
| Eiko Carol You meet Eiko in her village Mandi Sari. She is the only summoner then Garnet. She can summon the Phoenix which can revive fallen characters. Another one of her summons is Madeen which is a very powerful attack. |
Amarant Coral This character comes late in the game. He can throw items and his claw like weapons are very powerful. He is always trying to find out why Zidane is so powerful. Sometimes when he is trying to prove that he is more powerful then Zidane he gets in trouble. |
| Queen Brahn Queen Brahn is the Queen of Alexandria. When Kuja helps her destroy Cleyra and Burmeica Kuja turns agesent her and kills her. |
Kuja Kuja is a genome created on Terra. He is the one who helps supply black mages to Queen Brahn. When fighting him the first time he trances and knocks you over with a huge ultima spell. |
